She always looks so sweet in her Sunday dresses.
No fun. Poor baby.
Well, she manages some fun I suppose,
in those moments in between when she's feeling a bit better.
{We've seen this scene before, haven't we}
Who says it doesn't snow in LA?
Siomara brought her little game to play at the Starbucks.
It's called 'Lotteria', basically a Mexican version of Bingo.
K had so much fun playing it, Rufi got the game for her, too,
and brought it over later the same day.
So grateful for good friends.
Siomara wanted to get a treat but didn't want to go it alone,
so k was more than happy to help her out.
Sweet acts of friendship.

Dear Shiloh, I love, love Keira all dressed up for Sundays---even her little sandals match her dress. Is Keira as relaxed for the modeling people as she is for you---following directions etc? She gets lots of practice at home.
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing the Miss Kitty thermos on the kitchen table as well as the jug of orange juice and the glass of fluids-- I loved she is always peering into. I loved seeing her cute MONKEY (??) back pack--I remember the day she was wearing it like she was marching off to the school bus. She will certainly be prepared for attending school. I always loved school because I loved learning, but Brock and Ethan exclaim they hate school because it soooo boring. My Mother taught me "listen for what you can learn that day", but Ethan just gets mad when I say this to him and exclaims "school is boring!!!"
That game called Lotteria sounded so fun. It was so thoughtful of the Mom to get it for Keira. Mexican Bingo!!!!!!!
The Mimosa branches looked so beautiful blowing in the wind.
Can you believe that Monsoon they are having in the Philippines?---120 miles per hour winds. HORRIBLE.
Love Joy -- I have to say it, I love your blogs and that you are documenting Keira's life. It will bring so much joy through out the days.
Love Joy
No, she's not usually as relaxed with other photographers as she is with me, but she's getting better as she gets older. Yes, it's the same monkey backpack you remember, the one grannie got for her previously. I'm like you, I love learning, but I also agree that school is often quite inefficient at teaching kids at the speeds they are capable of learning. It's often the bright children that are bored, but I truly despise that term. I wholeheartedly believe boredom is a myth. There is ALWAYS something to do, something to be done, even if it's a prayer, a mental list, pondering the universe, planning your future, etc. But yes, it does require a desire to DO something rather than just sit there and be entertained. So yes, bright kids often claim to be bored because the teaching fails to engage them or keep their interest, but also because they are a bit lazy I think. I have no sympathy for the complaint of boredom. There's always something, so FIND it! When Keira complains of being bored I completely ignore it and refuse to find something for her to do. She can figure it out or be bored. Her choice. And that's what I tell her. She always chooses to find something to do. I don't think anyone likes being bored. I'm never bored. School can't be boring anyway. School is just school. Boring is a state of mind. That's my take on it.
DeleteYes, Keira loves that little game. We play it regularly. I know, that typhoon is so terrible! I pray for those in its path. Thank heavens the Santa Ana's are nice and gentle, even when they're stronger!
Thank you, Joy. I'm glad you enjoy the blog. I do my best to document life for Keira. I am hopeful that she will be so glad I did some day, but even now, she loves the photos and stories, and it touches my heart that they mean so much to her. Thank you for your comments and support! xoxo
