Meanwhile, back in August... sheesh!
Tia Chita and Uncle Joe suprised k with these cute little fairy wings,
and she had so much fun dancing around wearing them and her tutu!
{So grateful for the little surprises they bring that mean so much}
What I couldn't resist was reading this article,
and now I'm liking the idea of sugar consumption
less than ever! Time to cut back... way back!
We had done hand prints on canvas for k & Siomara
earlier in the summer,
but I just got around to getting the clear coat on top.
Now they're finished.
Keira chose these colors herself.
She is missing Siomara and wants to be in kindergarten, too!
So each and every day since Siomara's first day of school,
k wants to play school... all. day. long.
With mama or daddy playing teacher, she is prepared
with her backpack, supplies, snacks, activities, etc.
And don't forget riding on the bus!
My faves, outside our windows.
Saturday Primary activity at the church, k's first!
She had a blast!
Afterward, mama went to donate blood at the blood drive.
One of the girls was sweet enough to give k
a sweet bandage of her own!
It even coordinated with her outfit!
She was pleased.

I loved the fairy wings that Joe and Patty got Keira. I wonder if they will ever have children together? They would make great parents. Right now Chewy is their child.
ReplyDeleteI am interested in that National Geographic article about "why SUGAR is so addictive". Can you make a copy of that article and send to me? I have always wondered why sugar is sooooo good!!! and it is soooo hard to resist.
I see that Keira's hand print is her favorite color, purple, with an orange background. What color did Siomara choose?
That was good practice that you and Bob play school each day with Keira. I am convinced Keira will enter Kindergarten at a 5th grade level. She will be like my Chris because her parents teach her so much.
That pink rose brush was spectacular.
That was cute that Keira got a yellow and pink bandage that matched her yellow and pink T-shirt.
Thanks for this wonderful blog--I have really missed them.
Love Joy
Yes, Chewy is their baby and they will make great parents, hopefully someday soon! Here is the link to the NatGeo sugar article: http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2013/08/sugar/cohen-text . be sure to check out the photo gallery, too! Such cool photos of sugar and candy! Another video I watched recently about the chronic toxicity of sugar, or more specifically fructose, is this video called Sugar: the bitter truth. You can find it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM
DeleteIt's a long video with lots of technical lingo in parts, but it's definitely worth the info in my opinion. If you have any trouble with either of the links let me know, and I can try emailing them to you.
Keira's hand print does look purple a bit, but actually it's blue. So it's a really pretty blue on orange. Siomara had like three colors of hand prints on a blue background. It think it was green, pink, and orange. Yes, the roses are beautiful. We even have some blooming outside today that I was noticing. :-)
Oh, I suppose the links didn't actually link. You can copy and paste them into your browser, but I will email them to you as well.:-)
