Snippets 27.52

Diggin' those chocolate chip banana muffins.

Fun with daddy!

Laundry day is so much better when you have a friend to bring along!

Too much fun with the bubble machine!

Horseback riding for the 4th of July!

One of my faves from the fireworks show... the palm tree!

Collected by Keira and I as we walked down the hill from the Dahlke's.
We couldn't just let them all go to the birds!

  1. Keira was so cute holding hands with her friend. Ethan and Tilly used to do that and it was so heavenly to see... little 3 years old's holding hands.

Of course you had to get peaches before the birds got them. Do you eat them with cream and a little sugar or do you make cobbler or pie? All three ideas sound yummy.

Does Bob really dance with Keira? How sweet--if so she will be a terrific dancer by the time she is a teenager. My Dad did,nt dance with me until I was a teenager and by then it was too late...I wasn't the best follower.

Keira legs look so long on Mr. Horse. Was she a little bit scared? I can remember how high off the ground they are. I would have been scared.

Haven't heard of the fires lately. I imagine this time of year there are a lot? There are a lot of fires burning in Oregon and Washington. Joy

    1. No, we didn't do anything that fabulous with the peaches. We just ate them with a bit of cream. They we're pretty small anyway. Yes, Bob was dancing with Keira all around the room. They weren't so much dancing together as they were dancing separately but at the same time. :-) Keira was a bit nervous about being on the horse but really she did great and loved it. The horse wasn't too big, so that helped. And she does have long legs! Oh, we have non-stop fires, I swear! As soon as they get one contained, there's another. It seems like it's been pretty much ongoing for the first half of this summer. We'll see what the rest of the season brings. I know there's fires burning right now in Idaho and Utah as well. All over the western states! No tornadoes or hurricanes, just fires! :-/

  2. I guess I couldn't tell from the picture that the peaches were small. They looked big and juicy. Yum!!

Bob and Keira might have been dancing separately, but it taught rhythm and dancing together with the music. At least Keira won't be afraid to dance.

One time Ted and his family had to be prepared to move at a moments notice (in Paradise) to evacuate because of the fires. This just happened a couple of years ago. So far this year it hasn't happened. Wish them luck!

Did you sit on a blanket to watch the fireworks, or could you see them from home?

Bubbles are always fun to children. Morgan plays with bubbles too on a hot summer day. Bubbles are so fun to try and catch. They are magical and like fairies.

Have you seen Joe and Chita and your Dad lately? What is up with them?

    1. This year we went to my friend, Ana's house to watch the fireworks. We just sat on blankets in her backyard as they were out of town. They live right near the high school where they do the show, so we had a great view! We just saw Joe, Chita, Grandpapi, and Abuela Estela a couple weeks ago. They are doing well, I suppose. My dad is back with Estela and Joe & Chita are looking for a new apartment. Sorry it took a few days to reply. I've been taking care of a sick little Keira these past few days.

  3. Keira loves to sing and dance. Just like her Mom she has a super memory for lyrics and music and loves making up songs and dances. She has really gotten into rhyming and makes us say rhyming words all the way to church.

No I can't dance, I just jump around like a crazy person to make Keira laugh. Lately Shiloh has been showing her some cute music videos that she loves dancing and sing to. While I sit on the sofia she will sing and dance in front of me for what seems like an hour. Gosh, I wish I could siphon off some of that energy.

    1. You were jumping around like a crazy person! And Keira was dancing all crazy, too! It was so much fun to watch you both! I need some of her energy, too! I can tell there's plenty to spare! :-)

  4. Ok, Shiloh I went back and saw Bob's and your comments. It doesn't notify me when Bob comments, so I will have to remember to re-read all the comments so I don't miss important or interesting.

That is neat that Joe and Abuela are back together...but I suspect she is a fighter, so I image that they argue a lot. But, I guess men vs women do that. Why are Joe and Chita moving to another apartment? xxxoo Joy Is Keira better by now?

I see that Bob corrected his face book because it now says he lives in Yucipa (sp), not Los Angeles.

    1. Joe and Chita are just looking for a place that's more to their liking and more affordable. Keira is on the mend, thanks for asking!:-)

  5. Bob, thanks for answering about dancing etc. Yes, children do have an abundance of energy. I remember Mom saying.."energy is wasted on the youth". Now that I am older, I know exactly how she felt.

That is funny that Keira is into making rhythms of all. Good luck in keeping that one up!!

You seems to be happy lately...I enjoyed all your posts this week. Are you feeling better physically?

    Love Joy

    1. I completely agree with your mom, Joy! I mean I know they need all that energy for growing and such, but like I've said before, they have so much left over! Nope, not feeling better here. Bob and I have terrible head colds right now. Ugh! Hopefully we'll be feeling better in a couple days though. Keira's doing pretty well now, just a little lingering cough. Hope you're well!
