Love this little shrub and the dainty flowers.
Not sure what type it is though.
I still have this vision in my head, of Keira, as a young woman in the future, with nails polished, dressed in something that shimmers or sparkles, perfume wafting in the wind, riding down the highway...
on her Harley! teehee! That's our girl!
In a little shop we frequent.
Sunflowers and daisies!
First photo with my new smartphone! Not bad!
This would be the bedside of one mama night owl.
Poor, Bob. I found this left on the kitchen counter when I woke up.
It's all about connecting.

How wonderful. I woke up this morning and here was a post. I was getting lonesome for one and haunting the computer.
ReplyDeleteThat was a cool vision you had about Keira growing into a young lady on her Harley. I laughed and laughed when I read that. I remember when attending Chico State the smell in the air after 5pm from the Jasmine bushes around campus. I have never smelled anything so heavenly as Jasmine and orange blossoms. I can see Keira in her beautiful dress, nail polish and smelling her sweet perfume. What a vision!
So, tell me about your new phone. I thought you just got one about 8 months ago? I guess that was a camera.
Poor Bob is right. I know how hungry and thirty he gets when out and about or working. What did he do?
The picture of Keira sitting next to Bob while looking at her photo book was so beautiful and while reading on his lap. Her skin is so smooth and has the usefulness of youth. I envy so much!
I wish we could find the fountain of youth and never grow old and die.
Well, the sunflowers look spectacular. Do you still think they won't grow as tall as Ellie???
Love Joy
Oh, Joy, I'm so sorry about not getting back to you sooner. The new Google email has me bamboozled! I couldn't see my email notifications that I had a comment on the blog. Anyway, yes, we got the Samsung Galaxy 3 phones. They are awesome! Luckily, that day that Bob forgot his lunch, he only worked a half day. So he didn't have to go hungry. No, the sunflowers we have this year are not as tall as Ellie. They are blooming already though. I will have to have Bob measure them soon!:-)
DeleteHere I am again. I just re-looked at your post and I see Keira riding her bike without her knee pads and elbow pads. How often does she ride without said pads? Keira is all dressed up in her black and white dress. Where were you heading off too?
ReplyDeleteHas the babysitting of the two little girls leveled off? Yes, kids (especially girls) fight a lot because they all think they are the boss! Is is a two edge sword. Friendship vs power.
XXX OOO Joy
Well, she doesn't wear the pads when she's just in the yard, as she's mostly on the grass. If we went out onto the street, she would be padded up for sure. We weren't going anywhere, she just likes to be dressed up in her pretty dresses or pretend pretty princess dresses. She changes her clothes like 10 times a day!:-) The girls are becoming more accustomed to each other and the rules about sharing and whining, so all is well. It's true though, what you said about the two-edged sword.
DeleteHere I am again, tell me about your lampshade that is for the Shiloh night owl. That is a splendid lampshade. Did you pick up at a cool shop? or did someone give to you. It is cool. I love it. XXOO Joy
ReplyDeleteI bought it a long time ago, at the Bookie actually, but it was just that plain black lamp shade with the frill and needed some sprucing up. So since it is rather tall, for a small bedside lamp anyway, I started sewing a bead fringe all the way around. It was a work in progress for a long time. I finally finished it when I was pregnant with Keira. I love it. Keira likes to play with the beads on it, too! xoxo
DeleteHere I am again to apologize for all my mistakes in commenting. When I was talking about Keira's beautiful skin I meant "youthful" skin, and I mistaken-ing said "useful" skin. I also said Is twice in the sentence and I meant "It is" You are smart so I am sure you figured out what in the heck I was talking about. Again, sorry. Do I see hens and chicks in the first photo with the dainty little flowers you like. Please ask Bob if he uses a special soil for hens and chicks???---like cactus soil or what?--Joy
ReplyDeleteNo problem, Joy, I didn't even think twice about it and knew exactly what you meant anyway. I have no idea what hens and chicks are. Is it a succulent? Is it down in that bottom pot or in the flower bed? Apparently, you know much better than I!:-)
DeleteShiloh, that is funny but the new email notifications bugs me to. I have tried to disable them but to no avail, so I guess I have to put up with it. Why oh why do they always change things?
ReplyDeleteThe hens and chicks are both in the planter and the garden. They are different species, but they are hens and chicks. They are succulents, but one is a bright green and the other one is a piney dull green. They are called that because the plant put out little shoots (chicks) and the chicks trail along the ground. It is a wonderful ground cover.
Thanks for telling about the lampshade. It is a fantastic hand-me-down which Keira will get. You are the most creative person I know. I am sure Keira will grow up to follow in your footprints.
I am glad Bob didn't suffer all day without food and water. How far to work is it if he forgets again and has to walk back for his lunch? Does he ride a bike or ride with a neighbor to work?
I just loved the picture of Keira and Daddy on a date on face book. Little girls just love things like that--it makes them feel so grown up. I remember Bob took Heidi on a Daddy Daughter Date. She was thrilled and she has always loved him for that.
Love Joy
Thanks for the info on the hens and chicks. I wonder if Bob knows? I'll have to pass it along. Bob rides with his boss to work, so he's out of luck if he forgets his lunch. That was the first time though. Yes, Keira loves her mama/Keira and daddy/Keira dates. We try to have them with her every so often. That one on one time is important. So how old was Heidi? She must have been little?
