Easter 2013

Our little Keira gave the scripture in sharing time during primary!
So proud!

Does mama get a lovely smile after church? Nope. Just one of the many funny faces she loves to make. :-)

We had hoped that Uncle Joe, Tia Chita, & Grandpapi could join us for an afternoon egg hunt & dinner at the park, but Joe was having some car trouble, so it was just us three.

Keira still had a good time.

She's starting to look so grown up!

& of course, so sweet & feminine in her Easter Sunday dress.

A basket full of colorful eggs. The plastic eggs each had a few m&m's, & Keira shook each plastic egg like a little shaker or maraca after she found them.

Not only did Keira pick out which dress she wanted to wear, she also picked out the shades of nail & toenail polish she wanted.

She loves being all dressed up.

The egg hunt is her favorite part of her favorite holiday.

Kisses for Daddy!

Instead of a traditional ham dinner
{darn mama's gall stones anyhow!},
it's french fries at Baker's!

Oh well, no cooking or dishes is not a bad way to end the day!
We had an enjoyable time together.

  1. Well, this is really a test--I'll write more when it shows up in gmail. I hate writing things to have them just disappear, so I won't say much. I must be set up to only post from gmail and it disappears when I do facebook???? I was getting so lonesome to have a post from you. Let me know if this goes through. I'll write more later.

  2. Shiloh, it appears this facebook comment went through email. I hope my comments do go through or I'll be mad.

Keira was so precious in her Easter Sunday Dress. Who gave this one to her? It was fun seeing her Sunday painted nails and toes. Now I guess Keira can also be a "hand" model.

The Easter Egg hunt looked fabulous. I have always loved colorful eggs. The California vegetation looked great against the colorful eggs.

Can Bob eat HAM? I was just trying to remember all the foods that bother his stomach. Or is it just HOT food. I remember he always had to wait for his food to get Cold before eating. Doesn't french fries bother your gall stones? What do you do with the left over Easter Eggs--just eat or make a big potatoe salad or deviled eggs.

I just received your pictures by mail. I love hard copies so much. As my sister says, we are hands on people and love touching things. Keira is so happy and sweet.

    Love Joy

    1. This dress is from Grannie from last summer. It fits well enough, just a bit high in the waist & shorter in the length since since she's grown 2.5 inches since last summer. Bob & I have always thought Keira could be a hand model, as she has such beautiful nails & long, slender fingers. I think Bob has issues with ham, but he can eat a little. He still doesn't like anything too hot, & curses if I put a hot plate in front of him when he's hungry, because he can't help but eat it anyway! haha! No, french fries don't bring on gall attacks for me. It seems to be the animal fat that does that. We made lots of deviled eggs with the Easter eggs. Of course, I couldn't really eat many, so Grandpapi had to help. It broke his heart! teehee! I'm glad you got the photos & enjoy them! xoxo

  3. I just had to comment on Keira's shoes. Are these new this year as I know her feet grow so fast? I love them and did you pick them out? Is this the little yellow and white dress she wore last year with the under part made of netting that she can twirl around in?

I can't believe at 3 that Keira can give a scriptural reading at church. Reminds me of my parent's teaching and how I could recite the articles of faith at a very early age. I was taught at an early age to be spiritual & believe.

    1. The sandals are also from Grannie. This is the larger of two pairs that she got for Keira last summer. She's just about outgrown her other Saltwater sandals. So Keira will be able to use this pair for this summer. Yes, this is the same dress she was twirling around in last summer. Keira is amazing! She just recently memorized her third article of faith, & all of her own accord, too! She's just a little sponge!

She's always asking Bob & I to tell her stories about us, like when we were little, or about her, when she was little. She finds them so intriguing & sometimes comical! For example, Bob was recently explaining to her what cow pies are, & telling her about how, when he was a young boy, he & his friends would find the juicy ones & throw them at each other! Um... YUCK! And how he threw one at his friend & then called out his name, just in time for his friend to turn around & get it right in the face! Needless to say, Bob got chased & chased over the hills, but didn't get caught, & Keira laughs & laughs at the story of it all! Crazy boys!!!

  4. Boy, this is crazy, but I keep forgetting things---for example, Keira face when she is goofy off. Where does she come up with these ideas? I suppose it is a Fairbanks trait--my Dad always made goofy faces and my Mother exclaimed, "Voy, why do always goof off in every picture. How enchanting. I suppose Marvin's family was the same.

    1. Oh my goodness, she thinks it's so funny to goof off! Especially if I'm trying to get her to be sweet or serious! It does fit right in with the Fairbanks' doesn't it? I do appreciate capturing her many faces though, & not always the same face. So it's a good thing!
