Labor Day Play

Joe & Chita took us to the park to visit with Grandpapi & Abuela Estela. Keira was a bit nervous, as she doesn't get to see them often enough, but she did agree to a quick snapshot. Poor Papi, looks like he has a migraine.

We also grabbed a happy meal from Mickey D's. French fries & a little Julius watch make Keira a happy camper!

Gotta make use of the box, too!

Keira says, "This is Chewie in his bed!" She just loves that little puppy dog!

Having some fun on her woofer guitar!

  1. Dear Shiloh:

Actually, I was thinking how strong and handsome your Dad looked with Estela and Keira. Keira just looks so little next to Big Joe. You have a good heritage.

Sounds like your trip to Mickey D's was fabulous, especially for little Keira. It cracks me up that she has to have her fry fix whenever you are downtown. Do you think it is the SALT? Heidi won't let her kids go to McDonald's. She and Kathy are health nuts, whereas I am more moderate, and I don't think it hurts to go to McDonald's once in a while. That rule makes life harder for Grandparents. Grandparents can afford McDonald's.

I bet Joe(your brother) gets a kick out of Keira's Woofer Guitar. Maybe she will be a singer when she is a teenager? You never know???? Her guitar is so colorful.

I love the watch she got.

    1. I guess I'm not such a great mom in that regard, as I let Keira eat fries & sweets, in moderation of course. She's so good about eating good stuff, too, though. She likes grapefruit, guacamole, & all kinds of veggies! You should be proud, raising kids that are so health-conscious! We don't eat fast food but probably once a month, though. We usually eat at home.:-)

  2. Shiloh; I call going to fast food once or twice a month as moderate. I know Keira has plenty of good healthy food at your house. I have always been envious of your cooking ability.

Because I was a member of a big family (7 kids)and lived out in the country on a farm, I was 18 or 19 before I ever tasted pizza or hamburger and fries. I remember thinking when I bit into that hamburger and fries it was so delicious I could have eaten one ever day...good thing I lived in the country and came from a big family or I would have eaten hamburgers, pizza and fries every day. How old were you when you tasted your first fast food? Remember when your Dad baked a turkey in the middle of the night in Albion? Does he still do thinks like that? Enjoying cooking can be a dangerous thing when we get older.

    1. I don't remember when I first ate fast food, but I recall my dad taking us to Taco Bell & various chicken & burger joints when I was in my teens. As far as cooking in the middle of the night, my dad totally still does crazy stuff like that, & Joe does, too! (Now that I think about it, I think I do, too! Haha!)Yes, Bob was always worried that my dad was going to burn the place down, that's for sure!:-)
