Last Friday, daddy came home from work bearing a rather large something for Keira! Boy, did she ever squeal with glee at the sight, not even knowing what it was, but sure, probably from the ever so bright, primary colors, that it was something for her, indeed! "Look what daddy brought home for me! Look what he brought!" It was in pieces, of course. So daddy laid them all out on the lawn & Keira played on them like it was her personal jungle gym for hours! Apparently the family he & Randy are doing some remodeling for were looking to get rid of it & asked if they wanted it. Bob thought of Keira & jumped at the chance! Now we just need to get mattresses & bedding for them! Unfortunately, we have plenty of time for that, as there is not enough room in our tiny apartment to actually set it up, so we will be storing it until the next time we move. It's in really great condition! I was looking online to see about how much the mattresses would cost, & came across this photo of the bunk beds themselves & had to download it! It sells in the price range of $350-$430! Wow, what a steal! They are also convertible to two twin beds!

I love the new bed Bob brought home for Keira. The colors are so bright and fun and I can see why she knew it was for her. I remember when Martin and I got twin beds for Chris and Kathy. They were used and from a super nice couple. I remember getting a crib for Chris from my friend. It is amazing "what pops up" when money is tight.
ReplyDeleteIsn't CA known for helping people with little money? Doesn't CA help with getting a 2 bedroom for families? Keira could have her own room, plus the bed would fit & all her toys. Wouldn't it be nice to have an extra room, plus bigger kitchen. Maybe I don't know what public assistance entails--so forgive me for asking if it is too complicated to explain...or you don't want to get into it.
Love Joy
It is amazing & reminds me that the Lord is watching over us. CA has had bad budget problems for a while. I think a lot of needy people are just having to do without, especially when it comes to housing, as there is just not enough to go around. We would love to have a 2 bedroom but it's just not in the cards right now. Hopefully in about a year or so we will be able to move into someplace more our size. For now I am full of gratitude that we have a roof over our heads & can provide Keira a safe & loving home. I don't forget that many people aren't so lucky.:-)
