So my new little point & click Fujifilm camera arrived last week, & I've been trying to work with little Miss Molly every day to grow accustomed to her & work out the kinks. Yes, there are definitely kinks. My previous camera was pretty much set to automatic most of the time. If I set this camera to auto, I'm not happy with the focus or the color. (See the following before & after shots!) So I suppose I'm going to have to do some more manual adjustments. It'll be alright. It's good for me! Here's Molly's box. Although there is a black camera pictured, she is a shiny, metallic blue!
One of my usual hangouts in the kitchen. (The other is the kitchen sink!)
Keira's favorite book! It's so funny to read it with her, as she is so fascinated with animals and the peculiar attributes they possess. This book goes through noses, ears, eyes, tails, feet, & mouths, introducing five animals & their parts for each category & offering some tidbit of information about the animal part & how it's used. Keira's favorite part: the horned lizard that squirts blood from its eyes when it's scared! A close second would be the mosquito that sucks up blood with its mouth! Apparently she has a thing for blood. Maybe she would make a good doctor!? She has pretty much memorized the entire book & can pretty much 'read' it to you. Every day, when we have mama/Keira time & I ask Keira what she would like to do, it's always read this book! {P.S. I got the before & after shots in the wrong order here. Oops!}
My neglected vintage Elna Supermatic sewing machine. I've been mending clothes with her, but we need to get together again & finish up some quilting projects!
There you have it! The first of hopefully many more photos to come!

What a colorful sewing machine. The color is picture perfect, so I guess the camera is doing a good job or should I say, "Shiloh, is doing a good job. I hope it can make the lawn green, the flowers beautiful and Keira's clothes colorful. Even your food looks yummy. Which reminds me you mentioned once about canning. If you are serious you could go to Desert Industries, or let the members know you would be interested in canning if you could get the necessary supplies. Just an idea if you really want or have time to can...it is like making quilts, it is very time consuming.

Yes, I believe the lawn will be green once again! I actually would like to do some canning, but there are more obstacles than merely a lack of supplies. Without transportation I am limited in access to abundant quantities of seasonal fruit & veggies, and we also lack the storage space (no pantry). And last, but certainly not least, I do lack the time. Oh well. One day, when I have a bigger kitchen.:-)
DeleteI forgot to mention, I love the beautiful color of Keira's book about different animals (insects) that she has memorized. I love the turquoise against the red. Nice job in capturing the colors.
ReplyDeleteI check the computer often for scenes from your trip to the beach. I can't wait to see. Who took you to the beach? Joe and Patty?
Love Joy
Sorry, Joy. We've just been swamped, I'm still sleep deprived, & it just keeps coming! We have another upcoming casting to take Keira to on Thursday, Hooray & Ugh!:-) I haven't had a chance to upload & edit the pics yet, but I will try to tonight. By the way, did you ever get the notice on the "Beach Bound" post? Just curious. No, Joe has been having car trouble, so we ended up renting a vehicle, which has me totally stressed out about our finances right about now. Yikes! Hopefully we will be able to squeak by!:-)
