Sunset Boulevard

Headed to Sunset Boulevard again for another casting for k.
This a bridge they're working on along the way.
The curves in it drew my attention. I like it.
It actually got hit by a semi a few days after I took this photo.
Knocked the scaffolding down and did some damage. Sheesh!

Hooray for colorful LA freeway murals!

I think those cars are keeping up with us pretty well!

Notice the reflection of the traffic behind us in the rear view mirror?
Neat, huh.

Stopped at a light and I look over to see this cool, painted bench.
Had to shoot it!
Okay, so I recognize Jim Morrison and Mick Jagger,
but who's the chick in the middle, I thought.
Come to find out it's a Bubblehead advertisement by a guy
named McNeilly. I suppose there is some debate as to whether
he is a street artist or merely a supergraphic installer,
blurring the lines between art and ads
so as to keep the city from taking them down.
I just like the colors in this one, & I still have no idea what the ad is for.
So for me I suppose it's more street art than ad.

Recognizing the surrounding landmarks.

In daddy's arms, at the studio.

Only in LA... I hope! I mean, really?
I wonder which demographic this ad is being targeted to.
Babies? Child models? Tween, teen, & young adult models?
...their mothers?... brainless people?
I swear that baby has lipstick on and looks scared, am I right?
Ridiculous!

Gotta love the palm lined streets of SoCal.

Heading out. Why, hello there, Miss Audrey.

Another, bigger, Bubblehead ad.
1969? Still don't get it.
Whatevs.

  1. Well, my comment didn't post again. I don't know why this happens as I do it the same every time. I will try again later. One time it happened I was able to get the comment back, but not this time,

  2. Sorry about that, Joy. I did notice on the google notifications that you +1'd this post, and usually you don't. So perhaps you hit the g+1 button instead of the publish button? Just a thought.

  3. I am going to try again. Yes, I did hit the g + 1 button on this, so maybe that is why the comment disappeared??? or maybe it is just that I have a dumb computer which acts up sometimes.

I loved the beautiful palm trees lining the city streets. When I lived in Oroville my street was lined in Palm trees. I loved driving surrounded by these Palms. Salem has a lot of vegetation like Calif. but no Palm Trees. We have lambs ear instead. Do you have lambs ear in Calif???? I don't recall Calif having a lot of lambs ear.

Shiloh, what is bubblehead art? Could that girl between Mick and Jim been Stevie Nicks??? I have heard of bobblehead but never bubblehead art.

I think the little girl on the pop machine was drinking COKE!! She does look scared and wearing makeup. It must be scary to be a child and dictated what to do!!

Keira was so sweet with her arms around Daddy. Did she advertise for a clothing line????

    Love Joy

    1. I do love the palm trees of SoCal but I also love the lush vegetation of the Pacific coast, although I could do without all the dreary, rainy days it takes to get it! :-) I haven't noticed any lamb's ear around, but that doesn't mean anything. The bubblehead ads are debated. Some say ads, some say art. Heck if I know.Yeah, that baby soda ad is definitely out there, at least in my opinion. Yes, Keira was casting for H&M I believe, if I remember correctly. Almost all the castings we attend, at least thus far, are for children's clothing lines.
