Snippets 10.52

Bob strung up the weight from Keira's Valentine's balloon. I tell you, he loves hanging things. It must be the movement & sway he enjoys watching, much like a pendulum, as the spiritual energy swirls around them. This is pretty cool though, because in the early morning, when the sunshine hits the sparkly red stars, it reflects into the front room through the small window on the front door there, creating neat patterns of red light on parts of the wall & ceiling.

I walked in the bedroom to find these three in bed. When I asked what she was doing, Keira replied, ever so matter-of-factly,
"I'm nursing my baby."

Tuesday evening mama/keira time was spent in the following fashion. She loved it!

Play date at the park with my visiting teacher, Ana, & her daughter, Lila, who is 6 months younger than Keira. Happy girls on a somewhat overcast, chilly day.

While we were running errands on a cloudy afternoon & waiting for daddy to finish at Lowe's, what should we come upon? Why a big pile of snow, that's what! Waiting? What waiting? Daddy could have taken a couple more hours & it would have been dandy!

That was also the day that Keira seemed to have a bad reaction to drinking milk again & developed a runny nose & congestion as a result. Getting ready for Auntie Stel & Uncle Jeff's visit, Bob was going to vacuum in the front room, so Keira says, "I'm going to the bedroom. If you need to find me, just follow the trail of tissues." Lo & behold, I did indeed find her there at the end of the trail...
munching on an apple.

This would be the kitchen table clean up I did on the eve of their arrival. The before shows the typical state of things, complete with sewing machine & fabric, project life & photos, stuff to put away, & Bob's tools, gardening stuff, etc. all around on the floor.
That's real life, right there.
I think I did fairly well, in spite of my procrastination.

  1. Dear Shiloh:

Those weights hanging from the porch over hang by the Autumn Leaves was spectacular. I know why Bob likes to hang things---it signals you are alive and well and enjoying life. It is truly spiritual energy that you are feeling.

Do you think Keira can remember you nursing her? Chris says he can remember things that happened to him before 3 years of age. The Fairbanks have especially fine minds--genius in fact.

What kind of toy is Keira squeezing in Mama and Keira time? I am trying to imagine what she is playing with.

Lila is such a cute little friend.

I love the snow pile you and Keira found. I am glad you were having so much fun that the wait for Bob seemed like a minute.

Follow the tissue was hilarious. Keira looked so cute eating an apple on the floor by the bed

I couldn't believe what the kitchen table looked like before and after the clean up. It was so fabulous it should be in Good Housekeeping.

    1. I'm sure Keira can remember nursing. I remember Heidi has an incredible memory that goes back to infanthood. I always thought it was amazing, as my earliest memories are preschool at best. Keira just has her little bee pet pillow in her hands, as she is swinging it at me! haha! I never think of my kitchen table being in Good Housekeeping, even when it's cleared off!:-)

  2. Shiloh: I went back and looked at your kitchen table again, and I can't believe you put away all that stuff. How long do you think it will last?--a week, a month, a few days??? Where did you stack every thing in your extremely small apartment? In the bedroom? Believe me Shiloh, you are an extremely good house keeper. I wish you had more room...maybe, someday??? Does Joe, Patty, and your Dad have a big place like they had in Beaumont????

    1. Well, we already have stuff on the kitchen table again, mostly project life & a stack of Keira's books & goldfish. It looks better than before though. It would only take me five minutes to clear it off right now. I have so many projects I'd like to get working on though. Yes, I stacked it all in the bedroom. Now I have to jump hurdles to get to the closet! haha! Yes, hopefully someday soon we will have more room. No, Joe's place is about half that size I think, but it is a two bedroom with a laundry area & enough room for my dad to stay there.
