Joe & Chita came to take us to the Mission Inn in Riverside so Keira could see all the lights.
The trees & buildings are decorated & lit, all the way up!
Our gang.
Frescoes.
Having fun in her new little jaguar hat/scarf/mittens!
Rawr!
I think Joe & I were nearly run over by this little train a couple times!
Horse drawn carriages! Keira says next year she want to dress up like a princess & ride in them!
Stained glass.
Shrines.
Kiddie photo opps.
All sorts of things!
Close up of the giant nutcracker.
Keira was so excited to touch his moving arm!
To warm up cold fingers & noses.
Neat fountains.
Something to see, everywhere you look!
Now mama's got ALL the goodies!
On our way out.
Daddy & Keira checking out the horse up close.
Hard working horsies!
We had a blast!
Shiloh, I can't believe another post!! What a wonderful surprise. Were the lights from Christmastime or New Year's (January 1 as posted on the picture)? Thank goodness for Joe and Patty to take you to see the festival of lights. What a joy for a young child to take it all in.
ReplyDeleteI really liked Keira's animal hat, scarf and gloves. She is good at growling. It reminds me of Bob's early art when animal heads were on Sean and Sherry. I see from FB that Sean has some of the art work on his walls. Gaby likes plants like you and me, and I see her many plants on FB. Does Patty like plants like us and grow them all over the house?
I am glad you captured a picture of Joe, Patty, Bob and Keira. They all look so happy and fascinated.
How many blocks were these lights. Just the mission? or were the streets decorated also??? How many hours did you spent at the Mission? Yes, next year, if you are still there, let Keira dress up like a Princess and Maybe? get to ride in the Pumpkin Carriage. Do they let kids ride the Train and the Princess Carriage?
So beautiful and wonderful.
Love Joy
I know, at first I neglected you, now I'm spoiling you! {with the posts that is, LOL}. They have the lights up at the Mission for the entire season, but we went on the 1st of 2013. Yes, Keira had so much fun! She loves her new hat/scarf/mittens, & it's so funny that it reminds you of Bob's artwork. I hadn't thought of that, but it's so true! Yes, Sean has most of whats left of his dad's artwork. I'm not sure if it's Gaby so much who likes the plants, it has always seemed to me that it's more Sean. He's like Bob in that way. Even Joe! So it's more the guys than the girls I think! It's just the entire mission that is all decked out, but it's beautiful. I'd like to say a block or two I think. They have shops, restaurants, hotels; there are vendors everywhere selling goodies. We were only there about an hour or so I'd say. Yes, they let kids & grownups ride the train & carriages. There's even an ice skating rink! We watched people ice skating, but I didn't get any good pics though. It was fun!
