So, our week started off with me doing some cleaning & reorganizing in the bedroom in order to get the parts of Keira's bunk bed out of the kitchen. {I need to be able to get to my sewing machine so I can get started on some projects one of these days!} Even though our small home is crowded, I love when it's clean & organized. I'm also working on going through some of Keira used clothes & things, to give to other lucky babies! Now for the rest of the house! UGH!
Hooray for packages full of good things! This package brought my first order ever from Paper Coterie. They make cards, journals, keepsake boxes, calendars, & such. I came across an offer they had in which you could get $40 worth for free from their website, you just had to pay shipping! Of course, I didn't find it until it was shortly after the midnight deadline. I wasn't sure if my order would even go through, but it worked! I picked out a book about photography in everyday life & a personalized hardbound journal. I love the quality! I also liked that their website moved rather quickly, when compared to Shutterfly, although their photobooks aren't as easily customized.
The bubble wrap that came in the package literally provided entertainment for the day for Keira. This is what she did all day long! I'm gonna have to remember this & get some more, maybe in fun colors, to keep on hand for a rainy day!
I love this sweet shot I got of Keira in the kitchen. She was keeping me company as I cooked up some lemon chicken for dinner before the debate came on TV. She has the sweetest face & brightest eyes & smile! She tickles my very heart & soul. And she just loves this little pink knit 'princess dress' from Auntie Tiff!
After getting groceries one afternoon, I filled up this colander to wash off the bunches of grapes I had picked up that were on sale. It was clear full! So after a nap with Keira, when we awoke, this is all Bob had left for us. So when we went to do laundry, I picked up some more grapes from the store. This time Bob wouldn't eat any, since I had given him a hard time for eating so many before. Sheesh! He sure loves him some strawberries & grapes! Actually, any fruits or veggies...except avocados. Keira & I don't worry about not getting to enjoy our guacamole!
Here is Keira, playing hairdresser with daddy as he tries to watch some shows. She was using her little jingle bell ant as a spray bottle. She says, "I'm spraying this in daddy's hair! Do you know what is it called? It's called Liquid Engine!" haha!
My beautiful fuschia is blooming once again! Yay!
We had a day of harvest yesterday. I have several photos, so I think I will create another post for it. I made this little photo collage for Facebook, to show Ellie's height & the yield of seeds we harvested from her.
It has been a good week, and we are most definitely looking forward to this upcoming week. My baby will be turning 3 years old in 7 days! Exciting!

Shiloh: Thanks so much for notifying me of your posts. Since I am so impatient I find it hard to wait until 8-11 for Lily & Co. emails. It is nice to get your posts early. I hope Charmian gets set up for these posts. If she is so lonely to ask people to post something, she would really benefit by your posts to Lily & Com. I hope it is easier for her to get set up than it was for me.
ReplyDeleteNot only do you inspire me to cook more you inspire me to get more organized. I love that you organized the bedroom so you could sew and put Keira's bunk bed away. Hurray!
You truly find the best deals. I love the new Paper Coterie. It always amazes me that children love bubble wrap and can spend hours popping every single bubble. Yes, get some colored bubble wrap for the rainy day. Keira will love popping every bubble.
The pink dress from Auntie Tiff was really beautiful on Keira. At least you and Keira get avocado/guacamole dip to your self's. To bad about the grapes, but grapes and strawberries sound so yummy.
Your fuchsia was so beautiful. I have always loved fuchsias, but never had luck with them. I think it has to do with where you put them. I can grow roses, geraniums, pansies, daises etc.
You inspired me to try fuchsias again...hope I figure out where to put it.
Love Joy
Aw, thanks, Joy. Fuschias just need lots of water (daily!), good drainage & shade (with good light) if that doesn't sound to contradictory!:-)Good luck! I love them!
DeleteDear Shiloh: Thanks for the tips on fuschias. I could never figure out what I was doing wrong. For example I never water plants daily. Shade but NOT direct sunlight. I will definitely try again with these helpful hints. Wish me luck. Joy
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. They are wonderful plants! I remember my first fuschia, I got it at WinCo in the spring. I loved it in the hanging basket because you can put it under the porch or a tree & the flowers hang over & open up facing a bit downward, sort of like bleeding hearts, so I think the blossoms are more enjoyable when it's hanging. It is a water loving plant though, so water thoroughly every day until the water runs out the bottom. And of course, a little plant food helps. I like to just add a few drops of miracle-gro in the water. I don't know how cold it gets where you're at, but they don't winter well unless you bring them indoors. In Pullman, I just treated them as an annual & would get a new plant to hang each spring. Yes, good luck! Oh, the little ant Keira has is just a toy from her musical drum set. It's in the shape of an A for ant & has little jingle bells around his legs. She was only pretending it was some kind of hair spray for daddy's hair.
DeleteDear Shioh: I am so impressed with photos and the story telling of Ellie, the sunflower, and Bob's tending of her. I have a question or request. How about contacting National Geographic seeing if they would picture Ellie and Bob--(maybe there is also some kind of payment for your entry?) That would be interesting and much deserved. Let me know what you find out---Ellie is such a beautiful story and such a interesting height. (Maybe you could goggle National Geographic and find out something before calling if you choose to do that).
ReplyDeleteI can't express enough how impressed I am with Ellie and Bob's gardening ability. I would love to see an article in National Geographic.
I don't think Bob would be game for fame of any sort. He has a hard enough time with the neighbors noticing & commenting, although I think he probably secretly enjoyed that Ellie drew so much attention, I also think he was glad that much of it was while he was not around!:-)Interesting tidbit: I met a neighbor from our ward a couple weeks ago at the laundromat & we were explaining to one another where we lived. As soon as I mentioned "the big sunflower" she knew exactly where we were, as her daughter had requested to come & look at it & touch it! Apparently, she was enthralled!:-)
