We ended up with a truck for a week so we could get Keira to her two castings in LA, plus one early birthday trip to the beach. It was great fun having transportation once again. For me it's a double-edged sword, as I'm always stressed & sleep deprived trying to take advantage of it to get everything done we possibly can. Bob loves the fact that it was a brand new Chevy! But no one was more ecstatic than Keira, who chose to spend most of her weekly mama/Keira time playing in the truck!
This is the only shot I got of the truck. Not sure of the model, but it was a 4-door.
Yup, we even played in the dark. I'm sure the neighbors thought we were nuts as they see flashes coming from the inside of the truck!
Keira pretends the seat belt lock is the ignition, so she just clicks to stop & go! Clever girl.
Adjusting the AC. She even calls it "the AC"!
Goofing around even when she's not in the drivers seat!
One happy driving girl!
I thought it was cool that the radio would flash the title of the songs as well as the artists. This was especially helpful for me, as it has been forever since I've listened to the radio, since I don't drive! I am definitely behind the times, & still love Maroon 5!
Keira enjoyed every minute of it! Hopefully we'll be able to play again, sooner rather than later!
Oh, Shiloh, I absolutely loved the new Chevy truck. I have often considered getting a truck over a car. What do you think?--you can put a Christmas tree in back of a truck, tools, carry stuff around. Seriously, what is your opinion?
ReplyDeleteKeira was a hoot in the truck. She is so smart--at only two (almost three) she used the click of the seat belt as starting and stopping the truck, and she caught on to AC. When it gets too hot here I go for a drive in the AC of the car to help cool off.
I am happy you had the job of driving again.
Love Joy
I love the idea of a smaller truck or SUV. I don't like the really small ones though. What I like the idea of, like you, is carrying stuff around, esp like garage sale finds or if you're going on vacation or to the beach. I also like that these size vehicles, including minivans, are easy to get in & out of, as the seats are just at the right height. No climbing into a big rig or trying to get unstuck from a low bucket seat! This truck was pretty nice, not too big or small, roomy, & not too bad with the mileage, it was a 5 cylinder as opposed to a 6. But when I am able to buy, it's gonna be a Toyota. I've just had great experiences with all our Toyotas. And the mileage of the Prius just can't be beat! Joe gets nearly 50mpg with his, & he's had it for 5 years & just hit 300k miles! Toyota has a larger SUV which is a hybrid, too, called the Highlander, which is tempting, but it costs more than the Prius & only gets 30mpg. Bummer. Of course, in a perfect world we would have a truck & a car! I couldn't even imagine owning two vehicles though! :-)
