Keira's new swimsuit & hula skirt arrived just in time! We are heading to LA tomorrow for a Garnet Hill audition for Keira, after which we will be heading to the Santa Monica Pier & beach, as an early birthday gift for her. The beach has been a summer long request, & the only thing she wants for her birthday. It's been a year since we've been able to play at the beach. We went right after her GUESSkids.com shoot. We actually haven't even been to a swimming pool this summer either! Can you imagine? In Southern California?! Anyway, we were lucky enough to find these on clearance from Land's End! Score! It's difficult finding cute, modest one-piece swimsuits that look great with her dark skin! I'm a sucker for the tropical, bright suits! Happy weekend everyone! Hopefully I'll have some great photos to share next week! I love Keira's great smile in this shot!
Shiloh, I did receive the blog on the beach and Keira's new swimsuit. I didn't comment on it because it showed up earlier on face book, which I did comment on. Keira just looks so happy that even her eyes are sparkling. I can't wait until you have time to upload the beach pictures.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry that Joe has car problems. Such is life. If you have a car you just have to pay to keep it running. You should know that--remember how many times you car needed fixing when you and Bob lived in Step Toe??? I hope the rental wasn't too much. Was it $35 a day plus gas? I know when you have a super tight budget %35 plus gas can seem so much more.
Love Joy
No problem, Joy. You certainly don't have to comment on every photo or post, I just wanted to make sure. :-) I got the photos uploaded last night & will try to work on them today. Oh yes, we are very familiar with the plight of owning a vehicle, especially older, used cars. Joe's was new when he got it, but he's put 300K miles on it in the past 5 years, so I guess it's bound to give him at least a little trouble after all that! Bob & I (mostly Bob) have fixed broken down cars from CA to AZ to ID & WA, in Steptoe, Albion, Pullman, Payette, & pretty much everywhere we have ever lived! :-) So I suppose we should just count our blessing not having a vehicle: no insurance, high gas prices, or breaking down! Ha! For the rental they actually have a weekend special that's about $35 for the entire weekend, but the insurance is double that, so it comes to around $100. But now Keira has another casting on Thursday, & keeping the car another few days adds another $140. Yikes! It's actually a truck, as they ran out of cars. It's nice & roomy but I was concerned with the extra cost of fuel we would have, but it actually hasn't been too bad, thank goodness!
