Evening Walk

These are the last of the photographs taken before the untimely death of my longtime, faithful friend, Sally. Yes, I am referring to my camera. I thought it only fitting she have a name after all this time. I love these blooming zinnia. Some are taller than Keira! Their color makes me happy!

We had gone for a walk. Keira loves to go for walks, pretty much anywhere! And they are far to short for her taste, no matter how long we've been gone or how far we have walked. She never gets bored with so many things to see! These tractors by the freeway are always a fave! Thank goodness it eventually gets dark, otherwise we'd never have to go back in the house! And I always have a lengthy to-do list, most of which involves being in the house. Poor Keira. I feel for her that her primary playmates are mama & daddy. We've promised her a puppy or kitty when we are able to move into a larger home, preferably with a yard & in a safer neighborhood. A future dream, of course.

Keira loves to talk non-stop as we walk, telling Bob & I about everything she sees, & asking any random question that may enter her mind. It's so cute! She even asks about the poles, & what the wires are for.

Let's go this way!

The last shot. Randomness on the electric pole.

  1. Dear Shiloh:

Oh, how I love and look forward to your Lily & Co. posts. I love the zinnias and I can't believe some are Keira's height. I have always loved different flowers. I can just see Bob watering the plants and flowers. I always loved to do this in the mornings or evenings. It gives me something to do, that I enjoy doing. Someday, Keira will take over this enjoyable duty...poor Bob.

I hope Keira gets her kitty or puppy some day soon. They will bring such comfort and happiness to her, but I don't know about 3 of you in a bed, plus kitty or puppy. I saw a man and wife once (I think it was Kenny G.) that had all the money in the world, but believed in their children sleeping in their gigantic King Sized bed. Personally I believe in children in the same bed because of nightmares etc, so it doesn't bother me any. In my mind, it depends on the child. Some children are gentle sleepers and some or to jittery.

I can't believe finding interest in telephone poles and old machinery. You are a genius when it comes to Sally--loved the name you picked.

    Love Joy

    1. You're too kind, Joy. I'm no genius, just trying to document our story. Yeah, I think for the most part that humans are social creatures & social sleepers. Kids seem to separate from sleeping with parents much easier when they are sharing space with siblings & pets, or at least it seems that way to me. I sure enjoy those zinnia's, too! I'm glad you are enjoying my blog.:-)
