Oh man, am I loving this Basil! We've already had bruschetta twice in the past couple weeks, & shared the harvest with friends & neighbors. I have an idea of what to do next...
Yes, Keira, too, was a sight in our garden today, haha! She was intently telling me a story about her being a bus driver!
We actually had two people come up to the yard today & ask if they could snap some photos of this sunflower, the taller flower that is. Keira is just over 3 feet tall. Perhaps we need to pull out the tape measure & see just how tall this puppy is! I think we need to name it, too. I'll discuss it with the little flower & get back to you soon!
Dear Shiloh:
ReplyDeleteThe look on Keira's face is priceless. She is so intent on telling her story. What a joy she must be.
Your grass is so green. Living in a desert, can you water as much as you want or are their restrictions? I remember we could only water on certain days while living in Sacramento. Do you know if you your water is from the Colorado River?
Your Basil looks great.
Love Joy
She truly is a joy, every single day! Keira is always doing or saying things that make me smile or just plain crack up! No, we haven't had any water restrictions this year, thank goodness, because Bob loves to water the yard & garden. There are automatic sprinklers, too. I'm sure the landlords don't appreciate the high water bill though.:-/ I'm not sure where our water comes from , so I took a minute to look it up. We don't get any from the Colorado River. Ours comes from the CA state water project, groundwater, & local streams/reservoirs. My basil is about ready to harvest again! I think I'm going to make some more pesto, since I gave so much of it away when I made it before:-)
DeleteOh, & the CA state water project means we get water that is pumped over the mountains to us, all the way from the Oroville dam! I guess it waters much of southern Cali!:-)
