A Peek at Our Week {& a half}

In front of the nativity scene on the Redlands Temple grounds. Keira knows she can always ask & get Marie to stop by the temple on our way home from just about anywhere!

We figured we would let Keira get a head start on the gift opening as she had more than a handful! I picked up this little board game at Target for $5, score! And she likes it!

Bob picked up this amaryllis at Trader Joes back in November. A little water & lots of love, & she bloomed just in time!

I set Keira up on the sofa with the big cow pillow folded in half. She was sandwiched in there all snug & comfy with her blanket & The Princess & The Frog. So cute.

Yes, we really did have Christmas dinner at nearly midnight on Christmas Eve! I believe it was a late afternoon nap that delayed the start of dinner. That, and the roast beast took a little longer than expected. Keira was mostly excited for the roast beast, as we had just read the Grinch together the previous evening.

Daddy & Keira, skyping with Gaby in Montana. Daddy was doing all the talking though, as Keira was being shy.

The birthday message Keira & I left as a surprise for Daddy.

I've been busy since Christmas, working on Keira's baby album. It's amazing all the photos I didn't take of our life at this time! Luckily, Bob was behind the camera at the hospital. If only I had discovered Project Life 20 years ago!

Just whipping up some dinner. Bob likes burritos, I like tacos, & Keira prefers quesedillas! So we have all three.

Getting accustomed to her Leappad, a generous gift from our ward family. So grateful.

  1. Well, I am so happy you had a great Christmas. Was the game you got Keira, Shoots and Ladders? What ever you got I am sure it was fantastic.

    I always love Amaryllis. I can't believe you got the Amaryllis in November and it bloomed just in time for Christmas. I also love the Christmas Cactus. Do you have one of these? The Christmas cactus can be left outside in a good spot and it blooms twice a year in CA. Tell Bob I said to get you one. Tell him to get you one in your favorite color of either, white, pink, rose pink or red. I remember once that Bob put up on face book beautiful Christmas Cactus. They were red. It was when Bob was in Montana, so maybe they were Sean's and Gaby's. Marie has one on her front porch that is fantastic.

    I think that was great that Keira was watching The Princess and the Frog all snuggled in her blanket and on the Big Cow Pillow. Personally I love TV and the many hours of entertainment kids get from it while we(the grown up's) are busy cooking or sewing. I love kid shows and I think they teach a lot of use full things. I disagree with the educators as long as the kids get personal time also.

    Your Christmas Dinner looked so yummy. I loved the Grinch stole Christmas, even the roast beast. I noticed you had different kinds of dishes to eat off. What was the pattern that the roast beef was on? Was it the Ginger Bread one?

    Maybe I will get Skype one day so I can talk to you guys.

    Love Joy

    1. Yes, it was Chutes & Ladders, & she really enjoys it. We also got her another little board game called the Sneaky Snacky Squirrel Game, that she likes even better! We've been playing them both a lot together! Keira loves 'em! I, too, love the amaryllis. Bob does well with them & the Christmas cactus. We don't have one right now, but he got Joe & Chita's to bloom lots while we were living with them. We took many photos of it as well. We surely do need to get another! Keira probably does get a bit more than the recommended amount of screen time per day, but we also spend a lot of one on one time with her, & she knows that time spent with mama, daddy, or the family together, does not usually include any tv or video games. And I often just shut the tv off & tell her to play with her toys. No, the roast wasn't on the gingerbread plate, it's just a plate I picked up at the thrift store earlier this year. It's just a circular pattern, multi-colored. I'll have to take a photo of it sometime so you can see. I've never skyped, but Bob can. If you do, that would be awesome! He complains about our slow connection though. Oh well. We'll upgrade some day, hopefully soon! Ugh! I have the same frustration. It's painfully slow trying to get my digital scrapping done! So it often goes neglected.:-(
