Last weekend our little Keira turned 3 years old! My oh my, where does the time go? Since her birthday landed on a Sunday this year, we just made a weekend of it. Saturday afternoon was spent at the park with Uncle Joe & Tia Chita, enjoying their company along with some lunch, presents, & playing on the playground. Keira couldn't have been happier!
Uncle Joe helping out.
Funny story. I only included this photo because in the background is a couple walking away with Joe & Chita's puppy, Chewie! {or rather being followed by him!} Yes, Joe got distracted with Keira & the gifts & almost lost the baby! teehee!
There's Keira watching Uncle Joe go rescue the puppy! {or the couple, depending upon how you look at it!}
I swear, anything Keira happened to have in her hands was viewed as a play thing by Chewie. That puppy has a one-track mind!
Joe says, "What 3 year old knows it's called a thermos?" Keira, that's who!
After the previous slide mishap at the pumpkin patch, Keira was a bit nervous at first. It didn't take long though, thank heavens! I was worried she might be scarred for life!
Singing on the playground!
Keira sure enjoyed this little ring pop from Joe & Chita.
With daddy, walking & licking!
Playtime in her new bathrobe & slippers that evening.
Excited for the day, in her Sunday dress!
Forever goofing around while mama's trying to get photos!
I love this shot of Keira playing by the Zinnias!
Keira's birthday requests this year were for a balloon, a lollipop, & strawberry cupcakes! It's so easy when they're little, isn't it? Here she is with the awesome balloon Joe & Chita brought. Yes, that would be a cake, complete with stand & candles! So cute!
Excited for those strawberry cupcakes!
I actually shot this in the dark while we were singing happy birthday to her. {I dislike that the flash is so slow on my camera that Keira always has time to close her eyes when I'm taking photos in the dark! Ugh.}
All in all, a wonderful birthday weekend for our sweet 3 year old, Keira! The fun even spilled over onto Monday when a package of books arrived from Auntie Stel {Keira loves her books!} as well as a special birthday card from Grannie! The card included two $5 bills for Keira, which I mentioned we should put in her piggy bank, to which she quickly responded by grabbing them saying, "No! I need this to go pay the bills!" If only that would cover it, haha! We actually ended up putting five in the piggy & keeping five for her to spend. Thanks so much to all who made this such a wonderful birthday for Keira! In addition to the aforementioned, there is also great thanks going out to the Dahlke's & Auntie Tiffiney!
Shiloh: I spent a long time responding to this post, but I must of spent too long because the post deleted. Do you know how to get it back???Has this ever happeded to you? Any ideas???

P.S. Tell Bob I have news about the OIL Rights. I couldn't find his name on the list. I wondered if He gave his oil rights away to Sherrie, or an Attorney or FRED, or somewhere. I have some numbers for him to call. Jon and Ted went out to Duchene one time about oil rights. When was the last notice he received. I don't have Jon Fairbanks number. Do you guys??? I am working on this mystery.

No, I've never had any trouble, but perhaps there is a time or length limit? Maybe like a voicemail message that cuts off? I'm sorry you lost it all though. I don't have any ideas how to get it back though, sorry. Maybe it was a computer glitch or power surge? Anyway, about the oil, Bob has not given anything away, but we don't receive any notices, ever. And no, I don't know Jon's number, but I'm friends with Kathy & Rachel on facebook. Perhaps you could email one of them? Sounds like a good mystery to be working on!:-)
DeleteDear Shiloh:Actually, didn't Keira's Birthday include the pumpkin patch the week before also. I always wished Birthdays could last longer than 1 day. Looks like Keira got my wish.
ReplyDeleteThat was funny that Chewie was off following a couple and Joe almost lost baby Chewie. Hopefully he never does that to a real human baby. I guess it is also good that the couple was an honest couple and that they were good people. Most people are good people on this earth and hopefully we never run into the evil ones.
I loved seeing Keira next to the Zinnas. I can see that they are 4-5 feet tall.
I guess you need to explain the balloon and the cake to me. I can't really tell which is which. Is the balloon attached to the rope Keira is holding and if so where is the cake? I see Bob trimming a plant, but I can't see the cake. Help??? Thank you.
I loved seeing Miss Kitty slippers and Keira's new robe I love Miss Kitty & to this day I still love he. Keira looked so warm and cozy in them
I guess I'll quit now after yesterday's mishap. I will write more later.

Well, I considered the pumpkin patch more of a celebration of fall rather than her birthday, but she loves it all anyway. About the cake balloon, the balloon is actually a cake with the candles on top & even the cake stand on the bottom. It might not be too easy to see in the photos. I will put up another shot soon that might show it better. Keira loves her new bathrobe & slippers, too! I'm glad she does. She's adorable:-)
DeleteDear Shiloh: this is the second installment on Keira's third Birthday because I was afraid of staying on the computer too long. I loved how clean your kitchen looked with Keira and the birthday cups.
ReplyDeleteI thought after my last email that maybe the balloon was the birthday cake. But I would still appreciate a bigger picture so I could see it more clearly. I blew it up on screen but it still wasn't clear enough to see the detail. Now that I know the balloon was the birthday cake I am fine. I am glad Joe and Patty were able to find this balloon for Keira. Is it up in the living room or your bedroom hitting the ceiling?
I loved your birthday cupcakes. I used to make cake and cupcakes from beginning to end too. Betty Crocker wasn't known yet, but by the time I got married every thing was from a box. What did you mean by "The baking powder lacked rising power??? The cupcakes looked beautiful to me. Did they not rise fast enough? Now that strawberry frosting just looked too tempting. I must try this. I am glad you use Martha Stewart.
You are so welcome for the card and money. You are so deserving. That was funny about Keira and using her money to pay bills. She is such a thoughtful child. You have taught her well.

My kitchen is hardly clean, but thank you for saying so! I guess I do try to keep it clean, or at least cleared, for the most part because it is such a small space. When I said the baking powder lacked rising power, it's because the cupcakes didn't rise very well, they sunk back in the middle a bit as well. The frosting hides it though.:-) I really like homemade cakes & cupcakes made from scratch. It's pretty much the only way I bake these days. Yes, Keira has a good understanding of money for her age, I think. Perhaps it's time to begin giving her an allowance.:-)
DeleteShiloh: here is the 3 installment on Keira's birthday...no longer the blog logged out I was on the computer too long.
ReplyDeleteLove, love the photo of Keira and Bob walking along holding hands and licking the lollipop. You and Bob are such a handsome couple.
I agree with Joe. What 3 year old know it called a thermos? Chewie just looks so intent and Keira's toys and thermos.
I am also glad Keira got rid of her fear of slides after the pumpkin patch.
I saw her pumpkin and the pine cones out front where Keira is fiddling with the door. Is this the pumpkin she picked out at the pumpkin patch or the one you got at Trader Joes???
Sometimes my Mother's and my cakes would sink in the middle also...thank goodness for frosting..one would never know by seeing the cake frosted
Love Joy
Aww, thanks. The pumpkin outside is the one medium pumpkin we got from the patch. The pumpkins I will get at Trader Joe's are pie pumpkins, they are smaller. Yes, thank goodness for frosting! {& everything else that lets us hide our culinary mishaps!}:-)
