Out & About

We have been out & about a lot these past several days, in spite of the heat wave we have been experiencing here in Yucaipa this past week. On Wednesday we ventured out to our local Subway for dinner sandwiches. It was way too hot to even consider cooking in the kitchen. This is the view from the freeway bridge.

The Subway is just across the freeway from where we live.

Keira was fascinated with all the little lizards that come out as it starts to cool off in the evening. This was a baby lizard on the curb.

Happily dancing around in the cool Subway dining room.

On the way back home.

On Thursday, Keira & I decided to walk to the local church bookstore. Yes, mama's insane! By the time we got to the Subway, some generous folks offered us a ride to escape the heat, but we were halfway there, only another 5 minutes of walking, so we graciously declined. I must have been delirious! Keira looked so cute in her little hat. Although it was a treacherous little excursion, we were happy by the time we returned home with our goodies. Keira got a CTR bracelet & ring, and I scored a fabulous book to accompany our Sunbeam lessons, with great activities & clip art!

Last week Keira & I had made a date to go to Starbucks on Friday. She chose the time & place. I wasn't sure if we were going to make it, as the day was so full. We went grocery shopping with Uncle Joe & Tia Chita so we could get some food with which to feed the missionaries for dinner. But in between we managed to keep our date, & we really enjoyed our time together. Keira loves to run around the shop, tossing trash into the can & dancing in the open spaces & around the other customers. She likes the cakes & cake pops at Starbucks. This time she tried the tiramisu cake pop.

My friend, Donna, who works there, invited us back the following day to visit during her break. Keira was more than happy to oblige. She really liked this raspberry truffle cake pop. She usually never eats more than half!

And more dancing around!
